My rear bumper has faded and I have tried back to black on it and other black restorers. I can not get the rear bumper back. I will be eventually colour coding the black bits on the bumper, but for the mean time i would like to have the black bits back. Is there anyway of doing this??

go over with a heat gun - will bring out the original black colour

no mate not a joke - it takes a while tho - my mate works at a vauxhall dealership, he says they do it on all second hand cars for sale to make them look new again - just be careful not to melt the plastic

that autoglym is only available from a bodyshop but you can get similar autoglym stuff from halfords

theres also another product called simoniz back to black car trim restorer, supposed to do the trick and its about 3.80 for 500ml spray can

Its shite. I used to use it to start with and it comes off the first time it rains and leaves streaky marks all over the bumpers. Now I use Autoglym Bumper Care and it lasts for months on my car

Already tried that simoniz stuff and it does not work. Will pop down to Halfords tonight if I have time and pick some auto glym back to black up.

I must have tried about a dozen different products for dressing the bumper trim.  By far the best is Meguiars trim detailer gel, comes in a black bottle and is the nuts. If your bumpers are really faded then try and find some carplan bumper black, comes in a black bottle and is a black wax/polish that puts the original colour back. Think i got it from halfords, just dont get any on the paintwork!!

Its not really faded that much. It's just that you can notice the difference in colours between the rear bumber and the plastic around the arches. And I would like it all to be the same.

Well invest in some meguiars then, i used autoglym bumper care for a while and imo the meguiars stuff beats it hands down. Also get some of the yellow applicator pads, very handy

yeah heat gun/hairdryer works the best...and its the cheapest

i used meguiars on my corsa b before going to autoglym... i found autoglym makes it more of a black than the meguairs, that seemed to make it more a grey but thats wat i found anyway...

I will go down at lunch and pick up some Autoglym stuff. Dont really fancy using a heatgun as knowing me I would melt the bumper.
