i've just put my 3rd coat of paint on. Now looking at laquar. because my car is flame red. i heard that before i put the final coloured coat down, i shoud put a coat of laquar on first? then the final coat. then one more layer of laquar. and leave to dry for the rest of the day... Is this right or any better methods?

Thanks

this is what it looks like so far

give it another coat then leave it to dry over night, then rub it down with 1400grit wet and dry and put it on the car, when its been on a few days just give it a polish. looks good tho

i laquered mine and it came out really bright and shiney, on a flame red car this isnt advisable, as it looks silly now, specially if the car starting to fade

problem with celli paint is that it weathers alot faster than proper pro paint (2pack) my advice would be to do 1-2 light coats of laquer to give it protection and long term shine.

good on ya doin it yourself, but colour match seems a bit off...

this is the problem with (halfords i guess) spray tins they normally dont match too well, even on my white car the colour is very different to both my old paint and bodyshop painted fresh white.

id get vaux ones, or go to a pro paint mixers, ask at a local bodyshop where they get their paint from and go there.
