ok........

if your car DOES not have a wire loom in for an MFD here is what to do...

connect a permenant live to pin number 6
connect an ignition live to pin number 2
earth it from pin number 4

if you like you can cut a loom from another corsa and use the red wire for perm live, black for ignition and brown for eath BUT i found it easier to make my own conection on the back as i was having problems with a loose connector on the back of the MFD (common problem)

so i decided to soilder the wires directly on to the board and silocon seal them in from behind (not on picture yet)

make sure the bulbs both work too otherwise it wont light up!!

i took the 3 wires i needed from behind the radio.

NOTE: the mfd will only light up with the ignition on. a normal mfd will also light up when the lights are on (and ignition is off) you can do this by connecting pin 12 (grey/black) to the sidelights feed

i am working on getting the dash bulb dimmer to work with the mfd too but seeing as im going to use LEDs this wont work anyway

also, i need to buy a temp sensor and find out which wires opperate this. the temp sensor will be inside the PC in my car to monitor any overheating!

mart

pics soon.......
