what will the effects be if the sub box is only 0.9cubic ft?

true, but if you go too small or big noticably subs performance will deteriorate to a large degree.

too small and low end will be seriously hampered, youd be better off with a 10" sub in a 0.75cuft box than a 12" in same size IMO.
