i bought some spax -35mm without buying the full kit and i'm now paying the price, back rubs on 17's when only going over a litte bump. gonnna get the arches trimmed and knocked out but want new shocks to make sure it dont rub. where can i get some rear shocks from for my sport that dont cost too much, i've seen bilstein rear gas dampers for £28 each but thi seems really cheap and dont know if they are just a standard type of replacement or a lot stiffer? ay help appeciated.

different shocks wont stop rubbing... different springs maybe....depends on the offset of your wheels

i thought the shocks stiffened the suspension or is that the dampers?
instead of buying new springs what can i do do stiffen the ride as it hasn't changed from the standard to the spax springs?

More damping will reduce the rate of compression, so will reduce the scubbing from small bumps in the road, but it's no correction for having the correct clearance in the first place.
It would be wise to get a set of koni or bylstien adjustable shocks as when you have the 2L in there the damping demands of the suspension will change radically.
Alo tires which don't stick otu as much might be an idea to aid the clearance issues you have now.

i'm gonna get them trimmed then knock them out a bit as it will be cheaper than buying new tyres . will have a look how much the adjustables cost now. does the adjustables change the lowering height ?
