Does any1 have a picture of the part of the gear linkage that needs extending and knows exactly how much it needs extending by?

it doesn't need doing if you don't use the gearbox spacer.
if you do space the gearbox from the mount, then the arch part at the bottom needs extending at it's apex, and the link rod at the top also neeeds extending. (by the same amount as the spacer, usually 15mm)

right i found a pic on mig with the bottom bit on, but they said u only need to lengthen that bit, didnt mention the top at all?
