Steve has posted this on the renault board but its a bit slow, just wondered on the off chance wether anyone might know?

"I was messing about under my dashboard lastnight, i did short something out for a pslit second, but didnt blow any fuses or anything, now when i flick my sidelights or main lights on all illumination from behind the clocks and the dash display goes, its fine when no lights are on but as soon as i turn the sidelights on the lighting goes, checked fuses etc, im just wondering if iv blown the illumination adjustment rheostat or something similar?"

My clocks/cdplayer etc "dim" when I turn on the lights

yes but his go off cmpletely, the adjusment knob doesnt do anything now

Only ever seen that on newer shape lagunas.... Probably end up having to replace the clocks though.... Not a hard job...
