6x9's arnt shit, there just shit when there put in a parcel shelf as they then share the same air as the sub and ruin the sound the sub makes.

not including you rob. the only reason for this thread was because of a reply by someone in another thread saying "6x9s are for chavs" stupid statement ! they are alot louder than standard speakers so why not use them ??

6x9s (or your 7x10s) in the back drag the soundstage backwards in the car, making it sound like all the music is coming from behind
this is a reason alot of people dont like them
if your going budget stylee and all you can afford is a set of 6x9s then fair enough but if you want a decent sounding instal spend about 150 - 200 quid on some components then buy a decent amp to match and a good sub or two then set it up or have it set up properly so it sounds good
if you still insist on rear speakers use a set of 10cm co-axials and amp them up then set up the speakers so it sounds like a good surround sound setup
think of a home audio surround sound system, the rear speakers are hardly audible
if your not sure what your doing then speak to someone who does know or have them do it for you mate

u dont want anything running off the hu no, the amps in them are crap.
A set of amped components in the front and a sub / subs in the back is al you need.
As said rear speakers of any kind just ruin the soundstage, and 6x9's in particular interfere with bass from the sub if not cut of corectly.
