Got all the pipe work done today on the Corsa. A word of advise to anyone fitting one of these engines to thier car. Check and double check any pipe work and wiring befire you fit the engine! I forgot to fit two jubilee clips properly when I re-built the engine and there was a leak... D'oh. They were also on the back of the block so I had to fiddle about for ages with alcohol dripping into my eyes and face (doesn't taste to bad mixed with water) doing the pipes up...

Fitted the air filter (temporary)

Fitted the fan, I always like to try new things, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't....

I reversed the polaritys of the wires on the radiator so it blows cool air onto the rad before anyone comments.

And finally:

The only sad thing is I cannot get the starter motor to do anything, it has power, multi meter tested it, but I don't think the solinoid is getting a signal... I am using the Corsa loom, but for some reason it just isn't working. The starter motor was functional when I last started the engine a year ago and there is no reason for it not to work... I think I might try feeding a wire directly to the signal terminal on the motor just to test it to be sure. Any suggestions?

Also, that is just a temporary rocker cover. I am having my rocker cover sand blasted (and cleaned properly) then hopefully anodized if the people who I know can do it

This one is Matts old one off of his LET. It has gotten really really hot a few times and the paint on it is bubbling off of it, the one with M-Tec written on it was missing a bit, which I have now so I can use it now but I can't be assed to changed it.

When I anodize it it will look like polished metal, but will be black. Now even thinking of a chrome one, that seems to be the way to go these days round here... I will be smoothing the spark plug cover down on a mill and CNC machining Vauxhall DOHC 16v into it after it has been anodized so it comes out silver...

Thats sounds like a good idea ed, defo different anyhow, however you will have to be careful!

When the CNC machine cuts into the metal threw the anodized metal bits of bur may come up and scratch the area around the CNC bit..

Anyhow cant wait to see finished!

Rad idea is a great idea, did you have to cut anything for it too fit like that?

Yea, It's only going to be cutting about a 10th of a mm deep into the metal though really to get the writing up. Hopefully if I set the machine to cut slow enough anything it will cut will be blown away as dust by the extractor fan on the machine. That is if I'm allowed to use it

looking good ed.
doesn't anodising harden the surface of the metal? thought you had to do all machining before it got done.

there's a small anodising place in marlow bottom if you get stuck of somewhere to do it.

dunno about your starter. can you bump it to test everything else?
