dont think changing to the corsas/tigra x14xe inlet is gonna make any difference. by the look of it, your inlet seems far less restrictive anyway

well, the reason people change fron the x16xel to the x16xe manifold is its less restrictive as there is lots of pipework and a very restrictive route for the air in the top half of the manifold.
the same is true about why people fit mantzel boxes.
its all to do with the restiction in the inlet system. in the pic of your engine, it seems to look far less restrictive than a x14xe engine anyway.

Out of interest, if a Mantzel or similar box is fitted, is the EGR system binned?

egr system stays with the mantzel, byt you can blank it off easily when fitting the mantzel
