i have put ths question out b4 , but it was not answered.

i have just got a pipercross panel filter through the post,

i was going to drill my airbox, but on taking it off i found a rectangle piece that sits under the airbox near the wing that can be removed.

should i

1, drill airbox with cold air feed - looks shite though
2, just leave rectangle piece off and put cold air feed to this gap
3, cut big whole in rectangle peice and put cold air feed in it.

does anyone know what i mean, or experimented with this.

i aint got a pic, basically when you take the lid off the airbox and remove the airfilter, you can see another compartment over to the far left in the airbox, cant realy understand why its there, but anyway a piece comes off the bottom of that compartment.

yeah i know the bit you mean. I decided to leave it in place and drill it rather than remove it completely.
Too much open-ness will allow too much crap to come into contact with the filter element.

putting 2 big holes in the airbox is a bad idea. you will suffer from heat soak, and also may lose pressure inside the box itself. Without this, you may well screw up the airflow trying to be sucked in by the engine. Just drill the holes, whack a pipe from the front bumper and position it underneath the holes. make sure the holes are away from the engine side. There are enough guides on this forum to help you.
