How much would it cost roughly to fit a new engine?
Basically I think either the valve stem oil seals or piston rings are fucked in my Astra, and I've been told it'll be cheaper to get a replacement engine?
Also, would it cost more to do because my car has air conditioning?
It's an X14XE engine by the way. I've seen them for sale on here for about £200 on average, I'm guessing getting someone to fit it for me would cost a lot?

I've been told the engine has to be stripped down to change the seals and rings, and that it would be cheaper to get a new engine?

So what about the A/C system? Can that easily be disconnected and reconnected on the new engine?
Also, if I got an X14XE from a Corsa/Tigra, would I need to get the ECU as well, as the inlet manifold is different on the Astra version of the X14XE (or as cybermonkey likes to call it the X14XEL)...
