how to tell the difference on a corsa b SRi? reason is because im thinking of enquiring to some people selling SRis on autotrader, but they harder ever know whether its an 8v or 16v, im only interested in 16vs! so anyway to tell? cheers

16V are only on N reg SRIs I think. :blink:

8v ^^

If the engine looks different, wider at the top, its 16v.

yup, inlet manifold....if it has a big four branch metal inlet then its the 16v

can usually tell by the rocker cover being big enough for two cams

Wrong!! My old SRi was on an L plate and was 16v

Mines a M Reg from march 95 and its 16v, god knows why some were 8v while others got the less powerfull 8v?

the 16v 1400's were cool. mine used to be one before it died and got an xe, was running in sri-co's bus a while a go.

there seems to be loads of 8v sri's about up here, all with fibre glass

cheers folks. no bodywork differences then? cause if i phone up some old lady and say can you please check the metal inlet and rocky cover for me they gonna have a major case of the

8v single cam 16v twin cam u can tell the diffrance when u look at the engine the 8vs have a cast mteal head the 16vs have a bigger head and a plastic ecotec cover mines a n 96 1.4 16v sri pics in my garage

March 1993 saw the release of the 81BHP 1.4 8v MPI SRi, that engine was also in the GLS.
August 1994, SRi got the 89BHP 1.4 16v engine.
September 1995, SRi rebadged as Sport.
