About 2 weeks ago I thought ma CV joint was on its way out and yesterday I got a very big scare and found out the hard way it wasnt. It turned out that the wheel bolts worked there way loose which caused 1 to snap in the hub and another to come off altogether, I was traveling about 40mph at the time when it decided to let me know that something was wrong needless to say I had a brown pant moment swiftly followed by a few sweary words. By the time I managed to stop the wheel was sticking half way out from the wing, thank fuk I wasnt on the motorway

The bolt has snapped right off at the head so all I need to do is take the caliper and disc off and use a set of mole grips to clamp onto the threads. Hope its as easy as that sounds

dunno if this would work, but if that doesnt, you could drill a small hole through the side of the bolt, then stick something it the hole and use that to turn it...if that makes sense?

if the thread is still poking out, put a bolt on it and put a blob of weld on the end, to create your own bolt, then just undo as nornal... thats what we do at work if a bolt snaps, easier than fucking about with mole grips and grazed knuckles

Mole grips will be fine though. As the bolt is not under tension it will come straight off. In fact you should be able to un-do it with your fingers.

Consider using slightly longer bolts too?
