If it doesnt have the key with the ecu how much am i looking to get a new key and barrel etc all programed for the ecu ..  and how much roughly for a rebuild, sorry newbie to this engine stuff Rob

they go on ebay with ecu chip and tranducer for about £60-100
a rebuild cost 400 up

Rob, I have a ECU, chip and transponder for a X16XE you can have for a fee.

Just get throttle bodies and a whole new engine management with it, job done  .
Thing is though mate, havent you still got most of the standar parts for it? Why not sell yours and upgrade to a 1.6? Its a ballache going back to standard, but you'll gain electric windows, ABS and Aircon. Also should be much easier to insure  .
Might be worth sitting down and costing it all out to see which is the better option. I know I did with my old car when i considered putting a 1.4 in it, but decided against it and then started looking for a late spec Sport before i was offered a parental load for mine  .

DO 1.2 16v's use the same ECU and loom as 1.6 16v's?

So all the things you put in the bin when making a faster car then
Grp N engine ( that's std inlet and cast exhaust manifold) manage a health 145BHP (ish) Just get it running, TB's you're talking a couple of thousand staight off then exahust manifold, system, brakes, sus tyres etc... talking mega bucks (if your'e realistic)
