started a new bonnet, ive welded the badboy brows and extention piece onto the bonnet, ive got a scoop id like to use. i want to make this a functional bonnet for an XE or LET corsa. ive got a subaru style scoop and im intending to turn it round so the hole is facing the windscreen, so cold air going under the car and through the grill will force hot air out the scoop and over the car, ive taken a few pics from different angles, just want some feedback on this please, ive postitioned the scoop where id like to put it.
cheers

I dont think it will act as a heat vent unless the car is stationary. When moving it will probably force trubulent air into the engine bay. That will help cooling but it probably wont work in the way you want.

whats the tool called, that make a sort of lip so on the edge so the scoop will sit in that to be flush with the bonnet,

i reckon it would do bugger all
not something you see on many other cars
needs to be a flat scoop thats the same contour as bonnet to pull air out of bay imo

i like that, i think it will look good when done!!!
get it smoothed in now now now!
although it will probs only help when the car isnt moving for the heat to just leak out the top

Its the same sort of principles as TVR's
Rather than force air through the front, it passes over the scoop and down the back

Mate, thats not going to do anything to disperse heat.
Its in totally the wrong place to make any use of any airflow that might be there, even if you do somehow drive fast enough to force any air up thru the engine bay from the front bumper / under the car, its gonna come out the air will come out before it gets past the engine, if you moved it further back then air would be pulled over the engine moving the hot air particles out of the vent, in a vacume sort of way,
think of it like cooling a pc, whats the point in bringing air in at the front and taking it out before it reaches any of the hot parts?

Also did you key the paint before you tried fibreglassing that vent on there?

you need loads more pop rivits in there, you want them every 2 inches for it to hold, it will prop end up cracking.
other than that it looks good, alltho I would have used the newer style scoob vent to mount that way around,

not a fan dont see the point, may as well put louvres in there.
Put them the right way up at the front to bring air in and upside down at the top to pull air out?
