Ally, you're right, maybe it was a bit much to spend but it was a nice sofa and I had the money sitting in my bank account. I'm also expecting a nice payment this month as well so it's not as though I'm going to be short of cash myself. It's just her that I'm concerned about.
At least whatever happends you know you've got the sofa problem covered
Aye, if your pipes burst/boiler explodes/central heating goes tits up etc etc at least you'll have a nice compf sofa to sleep on in your garden

only reason why i forked out that much was because there's hardly anything else we need to purchase for the house.
All the appliances are being left and there's no decorating that needs doing. There are minor things i'd like to change in the bathroom but that won't come until we've settled in properly

If I ever get a place with some bitch I'm gonna make sure everything is in my name and that she pays her share of everything!
Then if she pisses me off I can give said bint her marching orders!
I'm so charming aren't I!

Does anyone know what the legalities are in regards to how much che can take if you break up if she contributes to the house?
My nightmare is buying a house, letting the mrs live there with me, then she tries to take 50% if we break up. Can this be done? How can you avoid it? I don't know if its as simple as just having the bills in your name. Is it?

If you knew you were gonna split up, sign the house and all your worldly posessions to your mum & dad, then there's nothing to split

yes Dave
Mav, you have the option at the beginning to have something drawn up which specifies who gets what in the event of a breakup. Costs about £150
