as above, on idle/tickover, my engine knocks like fuck, loud and fast knocks, from cambelt side of engine.

what could it be?

(1.4 16v ecotec egnine)

yeah was done not long before i got car mate, bout 50 k miles. its done 71k now

most prob waterpump or the tensioners on the cambelt, get it checked properly asap

have you taken off your standard air box and replaced it with a KnN cone filter or any other aftermarket induction kit

To the point see if it is vibrating on the underside of the bonnet or anywhere else in the engine bay

timing belt kit from vaux is bout £90 retail i think or if you no some1 to get it trade there £70, water pump is bout £60 retail and bout £30 trade.
then if a garage does it prob 2hours labour plus some antifeeze.

obviously you can get no genuine bits which are cheaper but thats up to u
