my cars fcuked, it sounds like i got a spanish gringo shakin his marracas under me bonnet (tappets rattling) im thinking of a recon engine cos the old one has done 149k+ anyone had this done??

how much did it cost??

From Vauxhall, about £1k.

From a breaker I would buy a used 1.4 for under £300. It should have a few months warrenty.

For a re-con from a breaker I would pay about £600...

cars dont run and run for ever you know. just becasue you fill it up with petrol evry now and again, dont mean it will never die
150K on the engine, is that the same on the car too?
