i think i know the guy "monty" drives a black sri round goole, this is either one he has stolen from somewhere or the one that got crashed into jacksons one evening by a drunken owner

apparently the engine is knackered, but all the bodywork (the bits that are left) are fine

its been sat where it is, only about a week

See if there are any signs of rust etc please. B pillar, arches etc

Am I right in thinking your enquiring about this in regards to reshelling your car? If so.. Surely getting a 12 year old shell will only condemn you to more hassle? Why not get a 1999/2000 model with a dodgy engine or something?

or am I barkin up the wrong tree?

Because shells are hard to come by

If its in good condition there won't be a problem

Yeah I spose so, just that even if you find a mint 1993 shell, problems wont be far in the future.

I've never seen one on a Y reg before, very rare considering there are a lot of X reg Cs about.

That engine is technically worth a bit as well, even if the seats aren't
