ok just fitted an ecu from a later corsa sport with a removable eprom chip, fitted the chip round the ignition barrel and in the key, struck the car up and it started fine, but the ecu light satyed on, took it for a drive and it went fine till i hit 5 grand where there was like a rev limit? why is this?

If the ecu light is on its probably in limp home mode.

Find whats causing it.

Try the paper clip test.

ok i done the paper clip test and got 12, 85, 84, 29, 15 all ive done is changed the ecu transpoder round the ignition barrel and the key chip

maybe the ecu isnt compatible...
