if i disconnect my battery what is the danger of messing somthing up ive bein told if you leave it off for a hour it will reset the ecu, with this in mind i want to put an after market airfilter on will it accepet if the ecu gets reset i also have an alarm auto watch will it mess up that

Disconnecting the battery wont cause any problems with the car or its engine.
Not sure about the alarm though

why re-set the ecu?
changing the filter wont do anything. probably make it run worse, but sound better.

who told you this? an airfilter will make your car crap because they have a tendancy to suck in hot air from the engine bay... engines prefare cold air...
the only thing disconnecting your battery will do is feck up your radio... make sure you have the code for it before you start...
