doing some work in MS word on XP...

when i highlight words, usually you can just type the new word and it replaces it...

well i cant. when i high light the word, and type a new one, it doesnt replace it, it puts it NEXT to the high lighted word.

i've dont about 40pages, and i'd really prefer not to start again.

i've tried pressing all keyboard buttons, and looked through many settings. but the cnut wont work.

(it only does it in this one document btw, it doesnt for example- do it when typing here...)

check if the track changes option is on - its in tools and will bring up a taskbar - check that this is switched off

yeah its been doin it for a week or two. so yeah i've restarted.

track changes makes it go red and underlines it... but yeah, thats off.
