Discovered at the weekend that the sump had a rust bubble on it, decided to rub the rust bubble, and hey presto! Now I have no oil
I now have new sump, but wanted to drive car onto my drive using the starter motor (with the spark plugs out so it doesn't fire with no oil!) and found that the starter motor won't turn over. No clicking from the solenoid, nothing.
If I push the car in 4th gear it turns the engine just fine. Battery is fully charged and all the ignition lights work as normal. The car is a 1995 Corsa Arizona 1.2 8v.
Now to my question:-
Is there a sensor in the sump for oil level that will isolate the starter motor if theres no oil in it?
