The place I got my exhaust from fitted a universal cat a few months ago which is also original fitment for a BMW Mini, they basically fitted one of them on instead of a normal GM cat because it doesn't have any flanges on it, just goes straight on kind of thing.

That wouldn't make any difference in terms of emissions testing for the MOT would it?

probably not. if its from a more modern car its likely to perform better at reducing emmissios than the older design corsa ones.
