what do you really need to finish the corsa, or at least get it track worthy?

How long is it going to take to sell all the crap, find a new car etc?

you dont NEED a cage.

a battery system? Have you done something else to this corsa besides removing the fuel tank? You just need a battery no?

so...

you need seats and harnesses.... and a fuel tank

mounts are pish easy.... buy some steel bars, chop and weld... hey presto

ill need a battery box, there nowhere to mount a battery in the bay.
i need to buy a decent mig welder and re-learn how to weld. if i do this i can pretty much fit the cage myself, along with stich welding the car
grind out imperfections and spray it up.

see if i sort the shell properly. first go ill be happy with it. then i can concerntrate on other stuff.
it doesnt have to be perfect i know. but i would like it to be sorted in 1 go instead of building it, stripping it to improve, re build it, etc etc

you'll never get to use the car!!

Get it running.... use it for the summer.... then come next winter, strip it, fit the cage, weld the bay etc... Do bits you have highlighted as being weak points of the car for next 'season'

Spread the work..... Its all fair and well wanting a 100% perfect car, but its about 5% practical. Use it.... thats what i hope your building it for.

....and you asking about budgets

MAN!!!!!

You can get a 6pt cage for 350 or so.... it'll take about a week to fit (working in eve's).....

Why are you so concerned that it has to go through the dash?

broster, my engine is carb'd so much cheaper to fuel just need a feew and a return and fixings are hose clamps, injection runs higher pressure so needsbetter stuff all round

all i need is a feed and a return, your not going for aero quip style connections then i guess? -6 fuel line say £70 then say 10 connections at 15-20 a go....

as for a cage, man andys must have been about 1k... at least! i know that the place that did mine used custom cages to get some cages from and said they have gone down hill recently, so i wouldnt bank on getting it from there, safety devices are shite, so leave you with a cheap and cheerful omp cage that wont follow the contors of the car so much!......

you need to have a check on prices of stuff really dude lol

You dont make any sense at all!

You wont go on a track without a cage? Well an mx5 is going to near a cage more than a corsa and im willing to bet it'll be dearer to. You will still spend shoot loads on the car no matter what the car is!
