Well the time has come to part company with my beloved Astra, Its time for something newer.
Have owned it for the past 3.5 years and is a regular at shows as most of you will know, won best in region at Billing 2003 and runner up at the Central RR day last week. The car was previously owned by another Mig member who spent a small fortune on it with regards to maintenance and modifications
(he spared no expense), car used to run Jenvey TB's before i bought it and the engine was a reliable daily driver, the TB's were removed when i bought it and the engine returned to standard form. The car has been RR'd 3 times and produced a consistant 158bhp and 149lb/ft, Printouts have been retained for viewing.
Car has almost all receipts/invoices etc etc from new (some 50 odd pages), dealer invoices go back as far as 1995 inc the original purchase check sheet and mileage check.
Car has done 118k, i bought it 3.5 years ago with 94k so have put just over 20k on it in that time and it hasnt missed a beat nor leaked oil (rare for a Vauxhall i know)
Gearbox was changed about 6 weeks ago for an F20 (was an F18 previously) and a brand new Vauxhall clutch was fitted, this has a 12 month warrenty.
The car has no rust that i can see, rear arches were replaced approx 4 years ago and the car was given a respray in the original colour at the same time.
The only point (had to be one) is the front bumper could do with being blown over, the car picked up a lot of stone chips when the previous owner had it, they're not major but do show up when polished or looked at closely, there are some chips on the front of the bonnet but have been touched up and none have started rusting. Other than that the car is in immaculate condition inside and out, if you've seen it at shows you will know how long i take polishing it
