get 2 distribution blocks for power and ground then you only need 1 power cable from battery.

basically you have 4 connections.

1. Remote from headunit (this switches the relay on when your headunit come on.
2. Ground
3. Positive From Battery (or distribution block in boot)
4. Positive out ( this will be live when headunit is on)

Run this positive out to each of the 3 amps and they will switch on at the same time, and its the safest way to keep the voltage up across the amps remote terminal.

How to build a relay

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I put this in a reply in another thread, but i thought people would find it useful

If people don't know what a relay is, its a switch which uses a small current signal, to swith a more powerful signal. In our car stereo world, it allows you to increase the signal from the remote turn on, which in turn allows you to switch more things on and also to run fans and neons, which turn on when you turn your stereo on.

This is a little how to build guide...

Parts needed to build relay, from Maplins.

Relay.... part# AR32K
Rectifier Diode... part# QL73Q
Fuse holders... part# RC70M x 2
fuses... 1 amp part# GL74R 5 amp part# GL81C

There are 4 terminals on the bottom of the relay, labelled 85, 86, 87 and 30.

The remote turn on from head unit goes to terminal 85.

terminal 86 goes to ground

terminal 30 is power in, so from your distribution block

terminal 87 is the remote turn on output that can power all your fans etc.

The diode needs to be soldered to terminal 85 and 86, there is a little line on the diode, this should be towards terminal 85.

Remember to fuse the inputs into terminals 85 and 30, 1 amp on the 85 and the 5 amp on the 30.

It is easy to do, sounds complicated, but easy. This was the first bit of soldering i did

I then put mine in one of Maplins small black plastic boxes and use speaker terminals to connect the wires outside, i'll get a pic of it soon so you can see

as i said its not a good idea to bridge the remote cables on more than 2 amps, the amps need 12V to turn on

All three amps will see 12v on the switch wire, it's the amperage that'll drop, but you only need about 2A in order to activate the switch circuit. If you are really concerned about it, add a relay as shown below with a 10A fuse in the distribution box. The only way to truly get all three amps seeing the same voltage and amperage would be to use a relay for each amp, but that would mean an extra fuse block and even more wires. I have used both the methods I have pictured and both worked fine, with the relay version the amps came on a little quicker though.
