why what other lifting tools did you have in mind like? fork lift? crane perhaps?

I mean that my trolley jack expired... was thinking of doing one side at a time, normal jack only

you will need something to hold the threaded part of the rear strut or it will just keep spinning.

on a serious note... i dont think its actually possible to do the job 1 side at a time...
the rear beam wont come down enough to get the spring out...

jack up
Wheel off
Undo lower shock mount
Compress shock
Undo top mount
Remove shock
Easy Eh ?

whydont you take the top mount off before you jack it up. it will save you having to compress the shock

u can do it 1 side at a time or u get a pice of wood n jack it on the spare wheel well
