not the cams
not the tappets
not a loose spark plug
ticks in time with the revs - the harder i rev the faster it ticks
coming from belt side of engine around the middle / bottom of the engine (1.4 16v sport) could it be the belt / pulleys?????
intermittent fault this but its starting to get annoying coz its quite a metalic ticking sound and gets quite loud
any ideas???

My car does that aswell buddy, ive got a sport. Sounds like the tappits. My mates does it aswell. Nothing to worry about.

its coming from middle / bottom of engine from the belt area
its deffo not tappets because its just 1 ticking sound from mid/bottom of the engine

mine does this as well and i was looking through the service history i got with the car and the last owner took it to vauxhall to get it checked and they replaced cambelt rollers and tenseners so i presume it stoped it and that it has started again, but im just leaving it

water pump maybe? they're suppose to be renewed every belt change

check my post page or so down - I had this weird ticking noise going on - only with revs - stopped as soon as I lifted my foot off pedal
Turned out to be Manifold Gasket - don't know why it caused a ticking but it's been replaced and now works 100% again

im thinking its that mate because its deffo coming from one of the pulleys that the alternator belt runs off & the waterpump is around that area too so ill have to get it checked out
it isnt the inlet as the ticking is too low down in the engine bay.. its near the water pump area so johnny might be right

Could be anything that's loose inside the engine.
