just had a new engine fitted and the temp gauge isnt working at all,
any ideas as to what the problem is?

may sond daft but is the wire conected to the temp sensor??
iv found it quite comon for it to fall off ov the vauxhalls iv had

could be, where abouts is the temp sensor? my car is a T reg sport.

yeh i found it and its plugged in but theres a spade connector on the wire thats not connected to anything, should this be connected somewhere?

if the spade conector looks lke some of the plastic is cut away thats the wire for the temp sencor. this slides onto the sender unit. this will be a round plugscrewed into the head with a raised flat round top that the spade conector slids onto (and normaly falls off to)

found it and have plugged in the spade connector works fine. cheers for your help,
going by the pic above its the same as my engine just wandering do you have a few plugs that arnt plugged in and hangin around or are they plugs that the mechanics didnt plug back in when i had the engine replaced?

i found 2, 1 by the battery and 1 by the drivers side head light, there both 2 pin connections.
