Right, if its a 1.4 is should be a AHW engien code, check this is the case by looking at the barcode sticker on the timing belt cover

check ther service history and see of the timing belt has been changed, it should have been changed evrey 4 years regardless of milage

check that the data sticker under the boot carpet matches the one in the inside cover of the service book

apart from that check for normal things

guarenteed way of seeing of its been involved in any crash damage on the rear is to see weather the sealer between int 1/4 panel and rear panel matches both sides, as even vw dealers cannot replicate the facotry in how this is applied

sport has 25bhp more, nice interior and the exhaust, nice, but not sure if there worth the extra £££
