when i put my 16" alloys on my corsa the tops of the wheels start to rub againts the arches!!?? this isnt a problem when my mate has them on his! it is even worse when there is weight in the back! do you think i need to get new rear suspension?? or if anyone knows how to fix this problem please help

what is the offset of the wheels? Is your mates car a corsa?

not sure what the off set, new to all the motor world!! and yea it is

they r 195 45 16"

Offset is probably way off

id look to see what the offset is first cos thats the main cause of scrubbage on the outside

I have 195/45/R16 on mine with no rubbing at all. Like people have said above the offset is your problem, my mate had same problem, his used to rub when he went over cats eyes lol

i have looked and i cant seem to find the off set, is there a easy way of findig it and fixing the problem!!?mine rubs really badly and is cutting away in to the tyre wall. teh alloys are TSW TIGER

The offset should be stamped on the back of the wheel.

It will have ET-something.

just had a look on teh back ofthe alloys and theyhave got nothing with et printed next to it all i could find was 7jx 16hs summit like that

its on the actual hub of the wheel

mine just had the number very hard to see

nope nothing just cleaned them and stil cant see anything. is there any way of fixing the problem anyway!!?? will a garage be abel to sort it out?

Nope. You may need to get the back of the wheel ground down by an engineers.

Best bet is to get some wheels at the right offset.

right, that will cost a bomb wont it?? what alloys do you recommed for a 95 corsa
or what will iget away with!!?/ is there no chance that it is the suspension like the garage thought!!?

49 is what a corsa comes with originally so yes

k, right well ihave just put them on to my mates corsa olny a year younger than mine and they fit fine and dont have ay problems rubbing at all even when we packed out the car so that we could test the weight, so wierd.
what do people thing?? justget my suspesion changed and put spacers in them so that they are stronger,as it hasnt been changed since the car was made!?

the rear on mine, it onmly usually catches when there are 3 people in the back and going ouver bumps. i was thinking gettig teh suspension changed and then grinding the plastic arches up abit

its not too hard to measure the offset of the wheels yourself. I measured mine, you just need a couple of rullers and a set-square.
