I put a bet on him to be World Cups top scorer after the first 2 games when people were writing him off
I was hoping he would display some sort of 'bouncebackability'

As did I. I also added Brazil to win the cup too, got 16/1.

pleased for ronaldo, he was getting so much stick it was unreal, yes hes lazy, but he still pisses all over what anyone else can produce on the international stage. if england dont win the competition id love brazil to do so

It was hard to defend the bloke at the beginning, seemd pointless, you just know, once he bashes one in, defenders need to get a new day job.

adriano? yeah he probably has a good record on paper etc, its just when im watching the games he just doesnt seem to do much or even look like a footballer.... whereas ronaldo at least bursts into life with a powerful run.... im not saying adriano hasnt done well btw

Definately NOT the greatest ever world cup goal scorer... he may be the holde rof the most goals but not the greates... juste fontaine 13 goals in 1 tournament, gerd muller, 14 in 2! Ronaldo 14 in 3 :S

To score 13 in one tournament is ace, but 15 is more than 13 unless my maths is crap. Also out of the 3 world cups Ronaldo has played in, his goals have got Brazil to the final twice and won it once, and we're still at the quarters in the third, so Ronny's mean and have had more affect on the outcome of the world cups than Fontaine.

true, fair comment, Gerd Muller is still the best though

Probably yes, but you can't deny Ronaldo has served his country well, bar 2 games.

yes he is statistics tell it like it is
modern football is harder to score in and small teams are no longer pushovers
the entire standard of world cup teams now is far superior to back then whick makes his achievment even more special
