im getting really fed up with my engine now so im thinkin of swappin it. are the 1.8 ecotec engines anygood. i know someone with a cheap one. what is the power output. aint to bothered about a 2.0 mite be different anyway. has anyone fitted one of these is it the same as the redtop to fit what will i need.???

yea it is out of a vectra i have heard the ecotec is easier to fit than the redtop is this true? the only reason im looking at the 1.8 is its 100quid and my engine is knackered i think

Hi, just fitted a 2.0 xe in my car myself and it was eazy. LMF sell all you need to get the xe in and the work of putting a engine in would be the same for both. I would save a bit of cash and go for the xe you can pick up an xe for about £200 thats engine, loom and ECU.

yea thats prob bin ramped has hell,if you gone get a new engine i would check out the 20xev outa the vectra,calibra,cav,,can get them low milage n n prob in better condition,

the 1.8 ecotec is also in some corsa c sri's. power output is 125 bhp
