you can replace loads while the heads of its just where to stop

you will need a head gasket, inlet and exhaust gasket, head bolts, might as well do the stem oil seals and cam seals and rocker gasket while you are there.
can buy the whole lot in kits.

get a head set, get the stem seals in there too sometimes depending on motorfactor.
cost about 50-70 depending on your bargining skills.

But dont get a cheap kit. Low quality head gaskets are about, stick to known brands. Payen make very good stuff.

you could have the porous mod done on the head, even if it is not porous yet. It means it should never go porous in the future.
