two nights ago i left the lights on in my car overnight, and the battery went flat. all that day i left the battery charging, but i didnt know you had to disconnect it from the car, so it didn't charge and the car wouldnt start at all.

i disconnected it, and last night (for about 12 hours) i left it charging. in the morning the water was bubbling so i put it back in the car.

the thing is it sounds almost flat, and takes ages to start, the lights on the dash fade when i try to start it.

is the battery fucked? or am i doing something wrong?

cheers
tim

the water was bubbling because it was on the charger, and when it bubbles its supposed to be fully charged (or so ive been told)

i've been driving it about this morning, which is supposed to charge the battery right? it seems like it's losing it's charge, cos it'll start ok after a drive but the longer i leave it the harder it is to start.

it's knackered then, yer?

Definatly knackered!! If it cant even keep its charge. But then again, the alternator shud be keeping it going... Could that be knackered also?

Yep. My Corsa (1997 R) is on the original battery and started first time after over 2 weeks and 5 VX's that my family has owned have all been on the original batteries from when bought to sold.
