car failed its mot 2day, passed on everthin appart from braking. when it gets 2 the brakes, they say its like hitting a brick wall, but there is just a bit 2 much travel be4 u get there.

running v6 disks n calipairs, with standard hoses.

the guys at the garage say they have tried many methods of bleeding and are pretty sure they are air free. just cant get the travel any better.

i know alot of people use braided hoses with these setups, but i thought it was just an improvement, and they worked fine on standards 2!

please help guys, jus want her 2 pass so i can go driving!!

thank u!!

I never had this with mine. It passed first time.

Take it to a different garage and see if they will pass it.

I havent got braided hoses! Are your rear brakes adjusted up properly. Rear brakes make the biggest difference to pedaql feel on a corsa!

Mine passed it's MoT with V6's, but as I said in another post about V6 brakes I adjusted the brake pedal top minimise the pedal travel.

Get down in the footwell and look up behind the brake pedal, you will see a threaded rod that has a U shaped bracket on it, the U shape brakcet is attached to the back of the pedal (via a pin) and the threaded rod goes up into the brake servo.
If you can get a cutdown 15mm open ended spanner you can slacken the securing nut, unpin the U bracket from the back of the pedal and "unscrew" it on the threaded rod so it comes nearer the end of the rod, unscrew until it's very close to the end of the rod (but not too close!), pin it back to the brake pedal (might be a bit stiff and requires you to pull up on the pedal), tighten the 15mm nut up again and you should have lost a bit of pedal travel.

Hope this helps

Can be done on Corsa's aswell Dave, not as easy as it is on Nova's though and you don't notice the difference as much as the thread isn't aslong as the Nova's
