right, yeah thanks for that!lol! anyway, we didnt go to see the car, but didfind out that it had 110,000 miles on. hasfull main dealer service history but even so i thought £995 was a bit steep for r plate with this many miles. plus, what is the engine good for? surely this is getting on a bit? cheers, chris.

RIGHT, WE BOUGHT THE CAR! HASA COUPLE OF LITTLE DENTS AND THE USUAL RUST ROUND THE REAR WIPER, BUT OTHER THAN THAT, ITS PRETTY GOOD. MASSIVE FOLDER OF HISTORY WITH LOADS OF RECEIPTS. JUST BEEN SERVICED AT MAIN DEALER AND CAMBELT CHANGEDAT 70,000. NEEDS A GOOD CLEAN AND THEN ILL PUT PICS UP!

id check in the history if the water pump was changed with the cam belt, if it hasent keep an eye on it(or an ear actually to listen for the bearings) as its a weak part and more often than not its that or the belt idlers which will fail and not the cambelt.

its different at every garage but i had a performance cam belt kit fitted with new idler rollers and a new water pump (idlers come in a cam belt kit) for 240 fully fitted, but im sure you can get it done cheaper than that.
