I know it's a fresh install and all, but my god. It's piss takingly fast. With all the login and loading screens you barely get a chance to read them 
Just having a little test at the moment. Not having any driver issues with any of my stuff either, well apart from my TV card (which I'm not using at the moment), but that's all

I'm sorely tempted to install this, my system spec is very similar to yours so may look into it.
I'm one of these "If it ain;t broke" type of people though and knowing my luck I'll install it, it'll all go pear shape and I'll be wishing I had stuck with regular XP! lol
How do you go about with the registration key? Do you need a seperate one or does it just use your current Windows one (Mine is a genuine one)?

It works as a fresh installation so you need a new serial and a new copy of Windows to do it...
It's not noticably faster in most sitations. But when loading large programs up you really notice the difference! Booting Windows is another impreovement. It's also quicker when running two large, memory intensive programs at the same time, which I do a lot...

as above.
most normal operations, day to day, you wont notice it.
I loaded it onto my pc with a slightly higher spec than above and found it good for gaming. I installed farcry and some x64 valve games, cranked everything up and it looked stunning.
Farcry took about 10 mins to cache the very first time (it takes sometime anyway), but after that it was quick, and very impressive graphics too.

Need to get all my games back then. They are backed up onto another computer at the moment. I seem to have a networking issue though...
I like it how my wireless network adapter was already installed when I booted the PC too. Nice touch having the drivers readily available Microsoft

Im running xp 32 still :< as ive only got a 32bit processsor.. Would 64 run on 32bit processor?
My specs currently are
3ghz HT P4
3GB DDR2 667mhz
ATI X850 GTO2 256DDR3 clocked to 505 GPU/500 RAM x2 for them as thats non DDR data
SATA 80GB HDD
SATA II 80GB HDD

No it woudln't run on a 32 bit processor.
That's why its called xp 64.

in which case it would be like XP anyways.
its exactly the same operating system, but the internals have been changed to make use of the 64bit processing - that is the only difference

I installed it in October of last year and had loads of driver issues but then i guess it was faily new I shall rebuild if the driver support has improved.
