TBH i wanna concentrate on getting cylinder 4 sorted... the compression tests on the other 3 we're spot on.
Considering the valves are about 4-8 quid each i dont think james wants to spend that much on valves if it doesnt cure it.

i think next step is change that other valve and then go from there.
New headgasket is gonna have to be used cos we have had the head off to many times now

Im gonna look out for a new head. I think we should get the head off then take it to your place in aylesford. Have your guys give a proper look over for damage. Skim it there if you can other wise wel strip it down and il take it to peugeot.

no, i mean CHECK all the valves, not replace them all, just replace the ones which look dodgy...
I reckon its warped though.
B, get it skimmed before, it'll cost you 15 quid, much cheaper than a new head

I have a couple of choices now....
1) Take the head off again, replace the inlet valve we missed that looked fine anyway, dismantle my head and have it skimmed and try again with a new gasket and bolts.
2) Buy a second hand head and have it skimmed, replace old head with new gasket and bolts.
3) Take it to a garage.
The first option would be cheapest but il risk skimming a damaged head that could be the source of the problem which would be a waste of money.
The second option is risky because the problem might not be in the head and thats money wasted aswell
The third option might source the problem but will cost me stupid amounts in labour.
Anyone any other suggestions pleeeassse?

Happy Robin?
Skimmed to 21 thou or however you spell it. Do I NEED a thicker repair gasket? My bro says il get less compression and less chance of perfomance increase if I were to make up for whats been taken off with a thicker gasket.

use a standard gasket.
21 thou is nothing.
the head will take about 5 skims before its scrap, so 1 skim will be fine.

Been considering a cam while im at it. Piper group a 300 degree cams are 250 quid but with such a lift id clearly need uprated valve springs and the full kit is 400 quid Cant justify spending that much.
