Hey Guys,
I've got myself some subs, made the box, sealed it and now got the bottom piece of wood to finish it off, before i seal that and attach it what else do i need to do?
They're 12" JL Audio subs.
Do i need to port the box? Or is it alrite just sealing it up?

depends on the subs. it will say on the sub box whether they need an open box, or a sealed one.

is the box seperated inside for each sub? effectively 2 boxes?
As its better for them to have their own box but they need to be as near identical as possible!
As for porting you would need a much bigger box to do a correct ported box!
You must make it air tight, ive always used a silicone sealer and smeared it on all the joins inside the box!
You will need some terminals aswell for the subs so you can wire the subs to them on the inside then the wires to the amp on the other side!
If they are brand new then remember to take it easy on them for abit aswell!

Oh andit doesnt matter if they are not ported the subs can be run in a sealed enclosure or a ported enclosure, they say ported can get you a few more dbs at top end but ive always run sealed enclosure due to the size but still had very good results sound wise!

well as long as you either have wires running into the box sealed or terminals then you are ready to go!
just remember to wire them up right as there are a few ways to wire them up to get the correct load of ohms, check the JL website for the correct wiring for your amp!
