Shigeru Miyamoto the god of all game developers has admitted in an interview that the Nintendo Wii is really just a rebadged Gamecube with a wireless controller, it can run Gamecube games straight off and the developer kit is exactly the same

its a slighty duped up version of the gamecube, running at 1.5x the gamecubes speed & power, so puts it midway between the power of the original xbox & xbox 360...
but because the hardware architecture is so well designed & structured, the efficiency of the system is damned impressive when compared to ps3 & 360
