My handbrake light keeps coming on when I'm driving - mainly just after I've used my breaks.

It just comes on and off intermittently - anyone know what might be wrong??

prob need to adjust the cable. if its abit loose then vibrations will cause the lever to move and flicker the light on n off

The light switch should be right near the handbrake handle, nowhere near the actual brakes - if you have a handbrake gator take that off and have a look.

EDIT: Correction, it was like that on my g/f's Fiesta and what I was thinking about. Couldn't feel the switch on my Corsa.

Bulb? Dodgy switch? Surely if your handbrake works it won't be the cable.

dunno if it's connected but my clutch is now broke. went out to my car at lunch and the pedal just pushes down really easy and won't go in gear.......so summat's fecked.
Going in garage 2moro after my dads towed me the 12 miles home...

when mine flickered and that it was because of low brake fluid - I had a leak

Yeah as the "handbrake light" is also a brake warning light for cars without abs.Mine came on when going round corners which i thought was low fluid level.It turned out to be worn shoes on the back.
