How the hell do you jack the rear of the car up and are the any other safe jacking points?

can still take the wheels off if you use the rear beam.

but yeah i have used the rear beam to jack up the rear of the car with no problems, it wont push wheel into the arch

drive onto a 1" -1.5" flat plank of wood and then use a low trolley jack.

I wouldn't use the lower arm, they're not designed to support the weight of the car on the underside. They were recalled many years ago for strengthening after a few bent after owners had done this. Unlikely you'll have one that isn't strengthened but even so, its not the best place.

I used to use a trolly with a lump of wood on to make contact before it hit the skirts.... not the safest way though

this is what i have to do too, pain in the arse...still struggle with a jack if its near the front

i have to drive up onto wood aswell. you must be able to get th jack under if you drive both the front and back up on to wood.

There is a jack i shall be purchasing at some point in the near future that is a race jack, only a few cm tall so should go under lovered cars no probs, I think its £90 ish, have a look on the machine mart site for it.
