is this true corsa 1.0 is faster than the 1.2 but the 1.0 has only 3 cylinders
there is nothing remotly fast about either car if you want speed, then buy a milkfloat over the 1.0 12v

I have a 1l and it struggels to beat a 1.1 punto. Its fine of the line but then you just start to go back. I am selling mine for a 1.2 16v, I hope this is quicker

Nope, the differences between the 1.2 16v and the 1.0 12v are so neglagable you can't even notice.

Dunno about that Ed, the 1.2 16v is nearly as fast as a 1.4 16v especially the Corsa C.

Well the bhp does prove it
1.2 8v being 45 and the 1.0 12v being 54.
Also the 1.0 12v is the Ecotec engine and the 1.2 8V is the nova engine
[Edited on 07-12-2005 by Reedy]
oh and by the way mine is a 1.2 8v ecotec, the nova 1.2 8vs were 55 bhp cos they didnt have a cat
Oh and by the way i had a 1.2 8v nova with a cat.
and my corsa 1.2 8v is exactly the same engine

My 1.0 is fine for a first car, and when i have been driving it like a cunt, i have beaten 1.2 8vs.
Believe it or not, they are faster - even though stupidly slow versus anything else.
Most people on this site have stupidly slow cars because its what they can afford, and are probably similar to what you had as a first car.
I've got my NCB out of my lil' 12v and hope to get an Ibiza FR as soon as it sells. Then i'll be happy

My 1.2 8v is well slow but im not old enough to insure anything else though. but it does make it quite challenging to drive
I think all us 1.2 and 1L owners should meet up and have a track day
I actually think it would be quite fun
Slow fun mind

i had both cars and would agree that the 1.0l (one i got now) is faster and a much smoother ride but as most ppl say they are slow but still a nice starter car.
