ive always seen the adds for superchips and airfilters saying better fuel economy when fitted.

is this actually true or not, as obviously the point of them is to get better performance in which case you would think use more petrol.

yes its true you will get better MPG as the software allows the engine to run more efficient etc

However in true terms you will never see and increase as the improvement in performance will lead to a more eager drive i.e heavier right foot

yes your probably right.

are chips worth getting installed on your car though, as alot of people say they return the car back to how its suposed to run, and removes restrictions that are put on it.

i know people will say dont get one unless you have other serious mods done, but they must do something even if they are the only mod done to the engine

better getting software downloaded as oppsoe to plug in units etc

is a software download better then a chip then.

i take it a software download is just a re-configuration of the software already on the car/remap with no chips added

no its a new map devloped by the comapny which replaces the OEM

Some conpanies have different characeristics that delivery the power in different ways

APR is very like OEM on my car whereas revo is much harsher on delivery - depends what you want

how much do these roughly cost then , i know remaps are around £300
