What can i use to clean it? Could i jet wash it?

Gunk aerosol degreaser.
Excellent stuff costs about £5 from Halfrauds

it will be ok to do the outside. just watch that you dont get any in or around the shaft and realese bearing.
i cleaned mine the other night with the gunk spray, a plastic brissel brush and kitchen roll.
watch what kind of brush you use as the chemicals from other types of metal scrathing the surface can cause it to rust. this is why i used a plastic brissle brush.

Gunk, toothbrush, autoglym tar remover, white spirit to rinse.

or tetrosyl engine degreaser, awesome stuff. I've used this and gunk, tetrosyl is better. no need to jetwash like with gunk, just water through a hose pipe
