someone has advised me that a rear reverse light is not required ? as i have come across a problem with my rear lights currently have no reverse light 
is this true ? or would it be a mot failure

as far as i know you dont need them but some would argue that if they are fitted they have to work be on the safe side and fix em quickly lol

Its required by law to have one or more reversing lights on the back of your car.

You 100% dont have to have a reverse light.
Nothing in MOT about it.

ive got the same probs m8 except myn do have reverse lights jus not working ive tried new bulbs and fuse nothing!

read something about a switch under the gear leaver gaiter or something like that to fix the lights?! do a search mate am sure you will find an answer

Probably the switch in the actual gear box, take it out and short it with a suitable piece of wire and you will find out

ay thats the switch - i knew it was somewhere to do with the gearbox or shifter or something like that!!haha!!

you dont have to take the gearbox out to get at it its just under the clutch arm they are a common prblem mine went the other day but i fixed it in 5 mins its an easy job.
