just to let you know, its a x14xe on 90k, back box, inlet manifold, airbox mods
last dyno'd at 115bhp and 100lb'ft torque, at 3.1k rpm
what mods do you guys suggest?

Ps, X14XE's are crap for torque, and you will spend loads to gain a very little amount.

With an inlet, airbox mods and a back box you got 25 bhp A lot of people will be sceptical about that mate Why not get a 4 branch manifold, full system and de-cat pipe?

apparently (from a very old thread on here) using an x16xe upper and lower inlet manifold will bump the torque figures right up...
as its very slightly larger...

im already using a x16xe lower inlet, as the engine is in an astra mk3 and the manifolds are different to the corsa. so for me to get the powerbox on, i had to use a corsa lower manifold.
theres already been a thread mate from when i got it dyno'd.
i dont see why the gain isnt a realistic one

monster, what is it the x16xe has that benefits it to greater torque over the 1.4?

To start with, it's more powerfull in the first place being the obvious one

Can anyone tell me in a few words what exactly "torque" means. I had a rough idea and i searched on google and found a three page answer. After the first page the meaning still had not been explained.

you got 115hp at 3,100 rpm? that rpm sounds a little low for peak power

Bigger pistions (being the obvious one) More compression, etc etc

compression is the same. its the larger capacity mostly

Oh right, just assumed having a big cubic capacity and all.
So, it's just purely because of the bigger pistions then.

1.6 engine is the easiest, cheapest and best way.

is it not mapped? maybe a map could be made up which doesnt necersarily up the figures but puts the power and torque in a more usable area of the rev range?
